HAPPY ANNIVERSARY SHABBAS!
We just wanted everyone to have a moment of joy, running, as a collective that said 'this is fun!'
As the day started, our first submission was from Baz, who sent his in at 4:55am before work, we also had the Andy Pipkin mile from Annmarie who's injured, the Ikea mile from Jonnie, the dodgy hair mile from Daz, and many, many more. Some of the most touching moments came from runners, who aren't Shabbas, but joined in for the fun of it. Just like our friend Laura, and Ian's daughter, Martha.
And not forgetting the fastest buggy running Shabba in town: Lee and his gorgeous daughter Isabella who looks like she loves being pushed at top speed by her speedy daddy!
'We did a mile run round the school grounds which took in an obstacle course along the route.
I feel it encompassed the Shabba spirit and philosophy that at a MLD school, with pupils with differing needs the youngest pupils in the school from Yellow Class (Primary 1) all aged between 8-10 did a mile running or walking with some running it really quick too!!! One boy did it in 11 mins 10 seconds!
More importantly everyone enjoyed it and did the "mile with a smile" This is whats its all about adults children, fast or slow, differing abilities, stories or needs just smiling and being active.'
